The leaves are falling and the skies are beginning to grey. We don’t know about you, but we’ve started thinking about how we’re going to keep warm this winter. While some dread the chill, we love any excuse to pull out a cosy scarf. This year we’re so excited to have a collaboration with Peckham artist Katrina Russell-Adams. Together we’ve designed a pair of scarves that are bound to bring some cheer to even the most miserable winter days.

Being a South London brand, we at Miss Pompom are always looking for ways to connect with the area and represent the vibrant community we are so lucky to be a part of. During a trip to the iconic Bussey Building Artist open days, our founder Bronwyn came across Katrina Russel-Adams large mural in Copeland Park and then across the woman herself in her top-floor studio accross the car park.  'I totally connected with her bright graphic work and asked her straight away if she wanted to collaborate. Four more months of silence and then I asked her again if she wanted to collaborate. She returned my email within 5 minutes with an excited 'I can't think about anything else, you're distracting me!'.'

Katrina Russell-Adams is a printmaker and visual artist whose prints, sculptures, and murals are a bold and dynamic contrast of colours and shapes. She has worked with Urban Outfitters and ITV and designed craft beer artwork and countless amazing murals.

When we saw photos of Katrina Russell-Adams’ mural on the playground wall of Goose Green primary school in East Dulwich, we fell in love.  We decided to take inspiration from the mural we so loved from Goose Green Primary school and reimagine it onto a scarf. To honour the mural’s origins, we made the scarf in two sizes, small and large, so it can be worn by anyone of any age or size.

The scarf features a playful graphic design in yellow, black, blue, pink, red, and green. Knit in a jacquard style, the colourful vibrancy of the front of the scarf carries on to the backside. Made from 100% acrylic Turkish yarn, the scarf is vegan, hypoallergenic, and can be machine washed. Miss Pompom is made in a small family-run factory in Istanbul and shipped in minimal packaging.

You can find the MPP x KRA scarves here on our website.
